If you have searched on Archives.com, you've probably done so from our search form on the member homepage. This is a great tool that can bring you results from a wide variety of databases, but what if you're looking for something a bit more specific?

Searching by record type can be the solution to narrow down your results while still conducting a broad search. Click the "Search" button at the top of the homepage to start and take a look at the column on the left-hand side that says "Select an Archive". Click the drop-down menu and you'll see a variety of different record types to chose from. By clicking one of these record types, you'll be able to narrow down your search to just those records, but still be able to search through several different collections.

Hopefully this has given you yet another tool to look use while searching through our records.
