This collection includes an index to the birth records of New Orleans (and Orleans Parish) for 1790-1899. Recording deaths was inconsistent before 1914; not all births in New Orleans were recorded before then. Records in this collection include, when available, the person's name, gender, race, parents' names, and a reference to the original record.
