I can't sign in to my account
If you're having difficulty logging in, first make sure that you're using the correct username and password that you set upon signup. Your username is the email address you used to register on our site (not your community nickname).
Both the "username" and "password" fields are case sensitive. Be sure that your CAPS LOCK is set to "off" when signing in (unless your username and/or password were set to all caps).

I forgot my password.
If you've forgotten your password, please click "Reset Your Password" on the Sign In page. Enter the email address you used when creating your account and click "Submit". We'll send you an email with instructions on how to reset your password.

How do I change my username or password?
Once you sign into the Member Area, you'll see a link at the top right that says My Account. Click this link, and then click the button that says "Make Changes", which will allow you to update your username and password.

I need help with a search.
We're committed to making it as fast and easy as possible to find your ancestors. For assistance with a search, explore these resources:

I want to cancel my membership or change billing options.
Archives membership entitles you to an entire year of unlimited access for only $39.95 - an average of only $3.33 per month. This price is significantly lower than competitor sites, some of which charge as much as $300 per year. If you elect to keep your membership, you'll be charged only $39.95 each year to ensure uninterrupted access (don't worry, we'll email you first).
If you would like to keep your keep your membership for only the first year and not be billed for any future renewals, please Contact Customer Support and specify that you'd like to decline any future renewals.
To cancel your membership, please visit the Subscription Options page. Please note: You are allowed only 1 free-trial membership, so if you cancel you will not be eligible for another one. You will also lose all access to the Archives database of records, as well as the community forum, family tree software, any records you've saved or uploaded to the website, your Ancestor Alerts, and your 30 day "Family History Made Simple" e-course.
If you wish to keep your membership but change something else with your billing options, please open a support ticket with your request.

How will the membership charge appear on my bank statement?
Membership payment will appear on your bank statement as "INF*Archives.com" along with our toll-free customer support number.

I'm already a member, but it keeps asking for payment. Why?
If your user session has ended or you are using a different computer than normal you may have been logged out and are searching in our non-members area. In order to access the members area, click the Sign In link in the upper-right corner of the page. To avoid this issue in the future, go directly to http://www.archives.com/member/ to access the members-only area.

I want to unsubscribe from your email list.
If you no longer wish to receive emails from Archives, simply click the "Unsubscribe" link at the bottom of any message you receive from us. Your unsubscribe request will be honored immediately. Please note that you may still receive period account/billing notices from us, if applicable.
If the unsubscribe link in a message isn't working, please click here to file a support ticket with us and an agent will look into the matter.
