Huang Genealogy & History
Huang is a Chinese name. It literally means yellow and likely originated as a habitational name taken from a territory called Huang. Perhaps the most famous person in Huang family history is Huang Di, also known as the Yellow Emperor, whom legend regards as the originator of Chinese civilization and father of the Chinese people. Supposedly one of his descendants was first given the territory of Huang as a fief. Huang genealogy also includes Huang Chao, who led a peasant rebellion that seriously weakened the Tang Dynasty, which until then had been one of the most powerful dynasties in the world.
