Park Genealogy & History
Park is a name derived from Old French "parc", meaning someone who lives or working in or at a park. In medieval times it often referred to the enclosed part of a landowner's estate where he could hunt. Park is also Korean; all Korean Parks are said to be descendants of King Hyeokgeose, who was said to have been born from a "pak", meaning a gourd. Park family history is first recorded with Henry del Parck in the Assize Court Rolls in 1272.
