Schulte Genealogy & History
Schulte is a German and Dutch name. It was derived from the Middle Low German word schulthete/schultheis and the Middle Dutch word schulte, both of which mean village headman. Thus, it was most likely originally given to someone who was a town mayor or the equivalent. Schulte family history is first recorded in Switzerland when some Schultes were brought into the nobility. Schulte genealogy includes Eduward Schulte, a German industrialist, one of the first to try to tell the world about the Nazis' Final Solution; his warnings were ignored and he was forced to flee to Switzerland.
