Information Available In This Collection
The Minnesota Marriage Registers Index lists a number of vital statistics on individuals married in the state of Minnesota during this time frame. Information in the records includes the full name of both the bride and groom, their ages at the time of the marriage, and their birth dates, when available. The records also provide a specific date and location for the marriage. In some files, other events that occurred on that day may also be listed.
Because this extensive archive does not offer filing information for specific documents, it is essential to have as much information about the bride and groom, and the marriage itself, to make searches for documents as fast and accurate as possible. Because marriage licenses issued in the state of Minnesota are done by the individual counties, the Minnesota Department of Health will direct searchers to the county for additional information and official copies of divorce decrees and other documents.
