Anderson County vital recordsAnderson County records are maintained by the Anderson County Recorder at the county clerk's office (http://www.co.anderson.tx.us/County_Offices/County_Clerk/County_Clerk.htm). The county recorder keeps original copies of vital statistics, including birth and death certificates, marriage licenses, and other records. Copies are maintained at the Texas Department of State Health Services, Texas Vital Statistics Division. Texas birth records are protected for 75 years and Texas death records are protected for 25 years; certified copies are provided only to family members, but anyone may obtain a verification letter. Requests may be made at the counter or by mail; the county clerk charges $1.00 per page for copies of vital records, plus $5.00 for certification.
