Audrain County, MO Birth, Death, Marriage, Divorce Records
The Audrain County Circuit Clerk and the Recorder of Deeds are both located in the Audrain County Courthouse in the town of Mexico at 101 N. Jefferson Street, the Recorder in Room 105, and the Circuit Clerk in Room 204. The Circuit Clerk is responsible for maintaining local divorce, civil, and criminal records, while the Recorder handles property and marriage records. Birth and death records are handled by the Audrain City-County Health Unit. Applications for both are located on the Unit's website, and completed applications can be brought to the Unit, or the central registry maintained by the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services Bureau of Vital Records in Jefferson City. Also in Jefferson City is the research room run by the State Archives. The Archives has millions of pages of records on file at its library, as well as provided online, with much of it dating as far back as the late 1700s.
