To obtain vital records such as birth, death, marriage or divorce certificates the best place to start is the Bond County Clerk's Office. Most county clerks have indexes to the records prior to 1916 and can be made available for genealogical research. You may also request vital records for Bond County from the Illinois Department of Public Health. Uncertified copies of birth records for genealogical purposes are available to someone who may not be entitled to receive a certified one if the birth record is more than 75 years old or the death record is more than 20 years old. The Illinois State Archives has marriages certificates for the years 1763 to 1900. Divorce records can only be requested from the Bond County Circuit Court Clerk.
