Bureau County vital recordsVital records for Bureau County are kept by the Bureau County Clerk's Office. The County's earliest records begin in 1837 for marriage records and in 1878 for both birth and death records. It was not state law to keep birth and death records until 1916. You may request a vital records search either by mail, in person or through the internet. Vital records such as birth, death or marriage records can be requested from the Illinois Department of Public Health. Divorce records must be requested from the Bureau County Circuit Court Clerk.
