Burnett County, WI Birth, Death, Marriage, Divorce Records
Burnett County was established in 1856, shortly after settlement by non-Native Americans. Vital records start in 1846 (deaths), 1853 (births), and 1869 (marriages). Historical records before 1907 can be found at the Wisconsin Historical Society, which also has a statewide index on microfilm, but recordkeeping was sketchy until the October 1907 registration law. Post-1907 record copies are available locally through the Siren Register of Deeds, with divorce record copies from the Clerk of Court, or from the state Vital Records Office of the Department of Health in Madison. Requests can be made in person, by mail, or by fax (online through VitalChek) for $20 including a five-year search.Burnett County Recorder Office - Birth, Death, Marriage & Divorce Records
