Canadian County, OK Birth, Death, Marriage, Divorce Records
Canadian County vital records date to 1907 when Oklahoma was granted statehood, but statewide registration was not mandatory until 1917, and compliance was not widespread until the 1940s. Records can be ordered for $15 by mail or in person from the county or state Health Departments in El Reno and Oklahoma City respectively. If the person of record is alive, the record is restricted. The El Reno Clerk of Court should be contacted for marriage or death records, and the Oklahoma Historical Society for historical records. Originally populated by the Caddo Indians, Canadian County was settled by non-Indians in 1889, 1892 and 1901, and originally called County Four.Canadian County Recorder Office - Birth, Death, Marriage & Divorce Records
