Cimarron County, in the western panhandle, has vital records dating to 1907. Although recordkeeping was required in1917, it was not complete until the 1940s. Copies are available for $15 from the Boise City Health Department, the state Health Department, or online through VitalChek, with restrictions on the availability of records for living persons. Historical records may be found at the Oklahoma Historical Society, while marriage and divorce records may be obtained from the Boise City Clerk of Court. Prior to 1890 this area was a lawless No Man's Land called Public Land Strip.
