Birth and death records for the county are maintained by the Clark County Health Department in the town of Kahoka on 670 North Johnson. Missouri requires that individuals meet certain qualifications in order to have copies of vital records issued to them. They must either be the person the certificate was originally issued to, a legal representative, or a member of the immediate family. Divorce, marriage and property records are all handled by the Circuit Clerk, who acts in the capacity of Recorder of Deeds for the county, as well, which is normally a separate office. The Clerk is located in the Clark County Courthouse on 111 E Court in Suite #2, also in Kahoka, MO.
