Clay County vital recordsThe Clay County Recorder of Deeds, located at 1 Courthouse Square in the county seat of Liberty, MO, handles property records, military discharges, and marriage records, all of which are provided online in an online access system that is open the public for free with no account required. All three record types are available through the system, and marriage records are available from January 1st, 1930, military discharges from February 1st, 1967, and property records from July 1st, 1986, all through to the present. The Recorder's office also provides a public computer terminal at its location for on-site research access. While, the Recorder handles non-vital records, the Clay County Public Health Center is in charge of birth and death records. Located at 800 Haines Drive, also in Liberty, the Center is open to the public from Monday to Friday during normal business operating hours.
