In the absence of county-maintained records in St. Helen's, the county seat, inquiries should be directed to the Oregon Vital Records office (http://public.health.oregon.gov/BirthDeathCertificates/GetVitalRecords/Pages/index.aspx), which maintains vital statistics at the state level. Internet orders are handled through VitalChek (http://www.vitalchek.com/). The non-refundable fee for one copy is $32.50, which includes a $12.50 processing fee. Only immediate family members or legal representatives may order vital records for another individual. Copies of marriage and divorce records are also available at VitalChek.
