Concho County vital recordsConcho County vital records are collected by the county clerk in Paint Rock. The state has duplicate copies from 1903 on. Confidentiality restrictions govern the release of certified copies for 25 year (death records) and 75 year (birth records); informational copies are unrestricted. The Concho County clerk also serves as the district clerk, recording public court documents, such as divorce records, as well as birth, marriage and death records. Anglo-Americans began ranching in Concho circa 1850; previously Concho was populated by Native Americans (Apaches, Comanches, Jumanos, and Plains). Created from the Bexar District in 1858, Concho was organized in 1879, and has a current population of 4,000.
