The Clovis County Branch Family History Center, which works in conjunction with the county Genealogical Society, has thousands of historical and genealogical records and documents on file at its location in the county seat of Clovis, NM. The Society will accept research requests for free, however, since they are a volunteer driven organization, requests are performed on a first-come, first served basis. The County Clerk is also in Clovis, at 700 North Main Street in Suite #7. The office is responsible for collecting and maintaining the property and marriage records for the county, among others, and they provide an online search function to allow users to view those two types for free. The New Mexico Department of Health maintains the birth and death records for the state, both of which are dated from 1920 to the present.
