The Fillmore County Auditor Treasurer office has among its duties the recording and distributing of the counties vital statistics and records, excluding property records which are handled by the Court Recorder's office. The Recorder's office offers the iDoc service, a subscription based online database of property record documents; those interested in using the service need to contact the office directly to set up a subscription. The Auditor Treasurer office, located in Preston, MN., allows research into the public records it has on file, as well as provides copies of certified records to qualified applicants. In addition to the two offices, the Fillmore County History Center & Genealogy Library has a large number of records on file which are open to researchers. For those who are unable to visit the library in person, staff will also search for and mail out specific records requested with different fees for different record types.
