Fillmore County vital recordsThe positions of the County Clerk and Register of Deeds are combined into a single office in Fillmore County which is located at 900 G Street in the county seat of Geneva, NE. The office handles marriage, property, and court records. While the office is open to those members of the public who wish to visit in person and research, the Nebraska State Historical Society collects records for the entire state and runs an archives library in Lincoln, NE. In addition, a large number of the available records are provided online, including prison records dated from 1870 to 1990, homestead/tract books from 1860 to 1954, cemetery records, old newspapers, and very much more. All of it is free to peruse, as is admission to the archives library. The Society provides computer terminals available to the public, microfilm readers, copy machines, and other equipment within the research room in the library.
