Freeborn County vital recordsFreeborn County primarily directs individuals to the Minnesota Department of Health's Office of the State Registrar to obtain physical copies of certified records. The Registrar's office can delivery vital records for any county in Minnesota except for those older than 1935. All necessary forms are provided on the official website. For genealogy research, the Freeborn County Genealogy Society operates a library and website that both have a large number of resources within them. The library is open to the public, however donations are appreciated. Society volunteers will perform research, as well, at the cost of $15 per hour. Resources utilized include county birth indexes, from 1870 to 1921, death indexes from 1870 to 1959, naturalization records from 1853 to 1956, and much more. The Society website provides the 1882 Freeborn County Index, along with other free resources. Membership with the group is $20 per year for an entire family.
