Grant County vital recordsThe County Clerk for Grant County is housed within the County Administration Building at 1400 Highway 180 East in the county seat of Silver City, NM. In addition to providing an online index that includes all public records dated from 1978 to the present, the Clerk's office is open to the public for research purposes Monday through Friday from 8:00AM until 5:00PM. The Grant County branch of the New Mexico Genealogical Society also provides marriage indexes from 1909 and 1910 online, as well as additional resources and directions. In addition to those agencies, the New Mexico Dept of Health keeps the vital records for the entire state. The agency was founded in 1919, which is when both birth and death records are available dated from. The state has strict requirements with regards to who can access those particular records.
