Birth records are stored for 100 years and death, marriage, and divorce records for 50 years. Copies of birth certificates are $15.00 for the first copy and $5.00 for each additional copy. There is a $7.00 charge for death certificate copies. The Tennessee State Library Archives (http://www.tn.gov/tsla/history/county/facthancock.htm) also maintains vital records that are made available to the public by request.
