Birth records are confidential for 75 years; death records, 25 years. Records kept include birth and death certificates, marriage licenses, and other records. Certified copies are provided only to qualified applicants, but anyone can obtain a verification letter. Certificate requests may be made at the local office. Application forms are available at the website. Birth certificates are $23.00; death certificates are $21.00 for the first page and $4.00 for each additional page.
