It is one of few counties in the state to have two county seats, the towns of Manchester and Nashua. The primary office of the county Registry of Deeds is in Nashua, at 19 Temple Street. The office has real estate records on file dating back to 1771 to the present, and records dated from 1966 to the present are computerized and viewable on the public terminals provided at the office, as well as through the online database system provided for free. Other records for Hillsborough, such as births and deaths, are available either from any Town Clerk in the county, or from the Division of Vital Records Administration. Records at the Division date back as far as 1640 to the present.
