Hooker County, NE Birth, Death, Marriage, Divorce Records

Hooker County vital recordsHooker County was once the least populated county in the state; though it has since moved up from that distinction, it is still in the top 10 least populated counties with a mere 783 residents as of the 2000 census. Despite the meager population, the county is served by several agencies that collect and maintain records for the area, including the Hooker County Genealogical Society. The Society operates a Genealogy Library within the Hooker County Library at 102 NW Cleveland in the county seat of Mullen, NE. They offer a number of record books and indexes for sale, as well as providing a variety for research, including birth records dated from 1919 to 1985, marriage records from 1889, the year the county was established, to 1970, death records from 1919 to 1985, and more. The County Clerk, who also acts as the Register of Deeds, is in Mullen, as well, within the Hooker County Courthouse.
