Jefferson County vital recordsJefferson County, named for Founding Father Thomas Jefferson, has a huge population, with almost 220,000 residents as of the 2010 census. The Recorder is located in the Jefferson County Administration Center at 729 Maple St. Also in Hillsboro and just down the street from the Courthouse is the Jefferson County Health Department at 405 Main St. The Vital Records Department there is in charge of recording and distributing birth and death certificates to qualified applications. Birth records are available from the early 1900s, and death records from the mid 1900s.
