Jefferson County vital recordsThe Jefferson County Public Health Department in Port Townsend provides copies of birth and death records for 1921—present. The records for 1907—present are provided by the Center for Health Statistics in Olympia or VitalChek. Marriage records 1984—present are kept by the county auditor with an online search, and divorce records are available from the county clerk. These too can be ordered from the state Center for Health Statistics or VitalChek for records dating to 1907. Historical records, prior to 1907, are maintained by the Washington State Archives. In 1852, Jefferson County was carved out of Thurston County.
