King and Queen County, VA Birth, Death, Marriage, Divorce Records
Although all King and Queen County records prior to 1864 were destroyed by fire, the Office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court has documents available for public inspection and copying: marriage licenses from 1864 to the present; a few birth and death records from the mid to late 1800s only; and census records for 1850 and 1860. The King and Queen County Historical Society, also housed in the courthouse, holds additional historical and genealogical records. Vital records are available to qualified individuals for $12.00 at the Virginia Department of Health. Records are eventually open to the public.
