The Kitsap County Auditor maintains an online index for records from 1987 to the present. State recording commenced in 1907 for births and deaths and 1968 for marriages and divorces. Divorce information is also available from the County Clerk. Historical records are maintained at the Washington State Archives. Kitsap County was formed out of Jefferson and King Counties in 1857 and was briefly named Slaughter County.
