Lapeer County vital recordsAll necessary forms and information required to obtain copies of vital records from Lapeer County are available through their website. In addition, the county has a detailed Genealogy Research page that explains the standard procedures to research the vital records of the county. Up to three researchers are allowed in the office, which has a designated area for this purpose, at once, and they are open Monday through Friday from 8:00AM till 5:00PM, with the exception of being closed the mornings of every 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of every month. Marriage records, which are available from 1831 to the present, and death records, available from 1867 to the present, are both public and are available via the mail or in-person. Birth records, which also begin in 1867, are restricted to related individuals if the record is less than 110 years old. Divorce records are also available from 1837 to the present.
