Lowndes County vital recordsThe Lowndes County Chancery Clerk's office offers a subscription based online search program that grants access to all the county property records listed from 2002 to the present. Subscription plans for the service are $30 per month, or $360 for a full year, plus a $5 processing fee for each option. Records dated earlier than 2002 can be accessed by visiting the office directly at its location in Columbus, MS, on 515 2nd Ave North. While the Chancery Clerk is responsible for property records, the Mississippi State Department of Health maintains its own vital records department which is responsible for personal records, birth, death, and marriage, for the entire state. The office can be visited in person in Jackson, MS, at 571 Stadium Drive, and inquiries can also be sent by email or phone at (601) 576-7981. Records can also be obtained online via the VitalChek system the state has partnered up with.
