Marlboro County vital recordsMarlboro County, created in 1785 as part of the Cheraws District, has maintained vital records since 1915 at the Public Health Department Vital Records office. Certified copies of birth/death certificates are available to family members when ordered in person or by mail, with identification, or online through VitalChek. The $12 fee includes a search plus copy. Death records before 1961 and all vital records 1641-1914 are available at the state Department of Archives and History. The state Department of Health website provides a free index for 1915-1960 deaths. Marlboro marriage records pre-1950 must be obtained from the County Probate Judge, and divorce records post-1949 from the County Clerk.
