Alternatively, requests can be made to the state Health Department in Oklahoma City, or online through VitalChek. Birth records for living persons are limited to immediate family. Vital records were maintained statewide as of 1907, but recordkeeping was spotty until the 1940s. Historical records are available at the Oklahoma Historical Society and Marshall County marriage and divorce records at the office of the County Clerk in Madill. Originally part of the Chickasaw Nation, Marshall County was inhabited by Chickasaw and Choctaw when established in 1907.
