The county Registry of Deeds has property records dating back prior to 1823, the year the county was established, to the present. Those who need records dating prior to 1823 are advised to contact or visit the State Archives which, in addition to real estate records, also has marriage, divorce, death, and birth records all dating back to 1640 to the present. The Archives Division operates a library in Concord where physical copies of records can be viewed, as well as accessed via the public computer terminals.
