Multnomah County vital recordsThe Multnomah County, Oregon, Vital Records office (http://web.multco.us/health/birth-and-death-certificates) registers all births and deaths that occur in the county. Certified copies of these records are available for six months from the event. These records may be obtained via mail or in person. Fees are $20.00 per certified copy and $15.00 for each additional copy. Certified death records can be released only to family members, legal representatives, government agencies or to persons or agencies with a personal or property right. Others will need a notarized permission note from a family member. After six months, birth and death certificates are available from the Oregon Office for Vital Statistics (http://public.health.oregon.gov/BirthDeathCertificates/GetVitalRecords/Pages/index.aspx).
