Muskegon County, MI Birth, Death, Marriage, Divorce Records

Muskegon County vital recordsAll vital records for Muskegon County are dated from 1867 to the present, and, with the exception of birth records less than 100 years old, are all open for public viewing and research at the County Clerk. Genealogy research hours are limited to Wednesdays only, from 1:00PM until 4:00PM, and only two researchers from out-of-county are permitted at once. During the research hours, the County Clerk's office is staffed with volunteers from the Muskegon County Genealogical Society who will assist in searching through records. The Clerk's office also offers their Genealogical Death Indexing System, a database of the entire county death index searchable for free, and the MCGS website lists a huge number of additional databases, such as census records for several years, cemetery records, and many others. For the novice researcher, the Society provides a Tips and Tricks page which provides many good places to start one's search.
