Nolan County, TX Birth, Death, Marriage, Divorce Records

Nolan County vital recordsThe Nolan County Clerk manages vital records for births, deaths and marriages in the Nolan County Courthouse in Sweetwater (originally Sweet Water); records date from the formation of the County from the Young-Bexar territory by the Texas legislature in 1876. Divorce is handled by the District Clerk. The first Caucasian settlers did not enter this territory until after the Civil War; they were buffalo hunters. Ranching and then farming became popular.
