While anyone may request uncertified copies of vital records, only those who prove a tangible interest are permitted certified copies. To obtain records in person, or ones listed prior to 1935, visit the Norman County Recorder's office at 16 3rd Ave E in Ada, MN. Records available through the Recorder's office begin in 1881, and land records start in 1885. For further research, the Norman County Genealogical Society, a member based group, provides a large number of resources in the Historical and Research Center in Ada. The Center is open only partially throughout the year, from Memorial Day to Labor Day.
