The Pawnee County Historical Society has a detailed website
listing out a large number of locations and resources for researching the county's history. They operate a museum in the county seat of Pawneee City, and welcome those who need help with projects or access to genealogical materials to call (402) 852-3131. The museum is open on Thursdays from 10:00AM until 3:30PM from January 1st until April 15th. The county courthouse is also located in Pawnee City and houses the Register of Deeds and the County Clerk, which are combined into a single position. The courthouse is specifically located at 625 6th Street and is open Monday through Friday during normal working hours. Between those two offices and the Historical Society, any researchers should be able to locate most records and documents they are looking for.
