Records of birth and death in Tioga County can be requested from the Pennsylvania Department of Health, Division of Vital Records in New Castle, but recent records, 1906present, are restricted. Certified copies, released to family only, can be requested online, by mail, or in person. Records prior to 1906 have no restrictions; the Tioga County Historical Society in Wellsboro and the Pennsylvania State Archives in Harrisburg have records dating as far back as 1682. Marriage and divorce records are unrestricted court public records which can be requested from the Tioga County Court Clerk in Wellsboro.
