The department offers a genealogy research area that can fit up to two researchers at once, and searches are to be performed by office staff at the cost of $1 per name. The clerk website lists applications for certified birth certificates and death records which can either be mailed to the office, or taken there in person. Fees in both cases are $10 for the initial certified copy of a record, and $4 for additional copies. To help streamline the process, Wexford County also links to the VitalChek service which allows individuals to purchase certified records online with their credit card, however the office is open throughout the week during normal business hours for those who need it.
