Worth borders Gentry County to the south, and the genealogy department of the Gentry County Library serves both counties, as well as several others in the area. The library has census records for Worth for every decade from 1840 to 1930, plus indexes of marriage, property, death, and birth records all dating back 1882. The genealogy room has computer terminals, microfilm readers, printers, and staff on hand willing to assist researchers locate specific records. The Worth County Courthouse is at 11 West Fourth Street in Grant City and houses the Recorder of Deeds and Circuit Clerk's offices. The Recorder has marriage records, property transactions, and other records available for research, and the Clerk's office has criminal and civil court records.
