Quinn is a surname that has roots in ancient Celtic culture coming from the word “conn” and the Gaelic name “O’Cuinn”. Conn means counsel and Quinn is the anglicized version and was often spelled Cuinn as early as 1027 with Mac Cuinn being recorded on the Ancient Charters of the Isle of Man when King Canute reigned.
