October is a great month. Not only does it bring beautiful fall colors, but it is also Family History Month! Archives.com has some things planned to help you celebrate!

The weekly livestream videos will focus on the basics of genealogy research, including getting started on Archives.com, beginner mistakes (and how to avoid them), census, and how to tell if a record really is for your ancestor. We will end the month with "Death and the Genealogist" (just in time for Halloween). The livestreams are free and happen every Wednesday at 1:00pm Eastern/10:00am Pacific.

Watch the blog this month for lots of tips, tricks, and how-tos. There are all sorts of fun things to learn!

Speaking of fun things to learn, there are some great Expert Series articles coming up this month. Lisa Alzo gets us started with "15 Fabulous Themes for Your Family Reunion." (It's not to early to start planning!)

Be sure to stay up-to-date with the Family History Month celebrations by following this blog, liking us on Facebook, and following us on Twitter (@archivescom).
