This collection of births was originally part of the 24th Report of the Record Commission and contains over 15,000 birth records. Each record has the child's name, names of parents, and date of birth. As it is a report to a records commission, the collection is largely complete up to about 1745. However, after that date the number of recorded births in the report gradually diminishes through the rest of the century.

No other state in the Union can boast the depth and breadth of vital records sources available in Massachusetts. This database is a record of marriages and intentions to marry from Boston, Massachusetts covering the years 1700 to 1809. It was created from records compiled by the Record Commissioners of the City of Boston. In 1892, the Record Commissioners Department was consolidated with the Registry Department in Boston, which published the records in book format. The database provides, at a minimum, the names of bride and groom, the date of marriage, and the name of the person who performed the marriage.

The Vital Records of Danvers, Massachusetts (Volume 1, Births), published by the Essex Institute in 1909, is a comprehensive accounting of births in Danvers, Massachusetts up to the end of the year 1849. The data is found in several places: books of record kept by the town clerks; church records; cemetery inscriptions; and many private records found in family Bibles. In all records, the original spelling of the names is followed, and in the alphabetical arrangement, the various forms should be examined, since items about the same family may be found under different spellings. This database of more than 40,000 names can provide researchers with needed information on family movement over the years, since birth location is also frequently given.

Mt. Auburn Cemetery, which is located in Middlesex County, was founded in 1831 by the Massachusetts Horticultural Society as the first in a national movement toward creating "rural" cemeteries. The cemetery is now a haven in the midst of the city and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. This collection gathers information from headstones in the cemetery. In addition to providing the decedent's name, it includes, where available, the following information: birthdate, birthplace, death date, death place, relationship information (i.e., wife of or brother of), military service, occupation, and age.Note: This database contains only a portion of the persons buried in the cemetery. Part of an ongoing project is to provide information on every person interred in this large cemetery. Ancestry.com will update this collection as additional records become available from Lyn Legere.
