Armstrong County vital recordsArmstrong County birth and death records are available from 1906 to the present from the Division of Vital Records in New Castle. Each copy costs $10.00, and valid identification must be given. Marriage and divorce certificates may be obtained at the Clerk of Orphans Court in Kittanning. The fee for a marriage record is $7.50. Divorce decrees are $3.50, payable at the prothonotary in the same building. The county was organized on March 12, 1800. It was named in honor of John Armstrong, who represented Pennsylvania in the Continental Congress and served as a major general during the Revolutionary War.
