Banner County, NE Birth, Death, Marriage, Divorce Records

Banner County vital recordsBanner County, so named by its citizens with the belief that it would be the banner county of Nebraska, is located in the western half of the state and borders Wyoming. The majority of land within the county is devoted to agriculture, despite being a fairly dry climate, and it is one of the least populated counties in the state with only approximately 700 residents. Only one town exists in the county, Harrisburg, which is the county seat. This is where the Banner County Historical Society is based out, at 200 N. Pennsylvania. The Society operates a museum at that location which contains a fair number of genealogical and historical records and documents available for research, including marriage license indexes, cemetery records, property records, and others. The museum is only open on Sundays from 2:00PM until 5:00PM from Memorial Day until Labor Day.
