Copies of vital records can be requested by mail or in person to either the County Health Department in Durant or the State Health Department, with online orders accepted through VitalChek; records for living persons are restricted. Marriage and divorce records are maintained by the Clerk of Court in Durant, while historical records are maintained by the Oklahoma Historical Society. First populated by the Choctaw in the 1830s, Bryan County was created in 1907 when Oklahoma was granted statehood.
